WIDOWS ANNUAL CONFERENCE GANA ROPP 2023
The Bege for Gobe annual widows' conference took place from
1st to 5th August, 2023. The theme was My Beloved and His Vineyard(
Isaiah 6: 1-5 ). The purpose was to help the widows know and to learn that God
has invested a lot in their lives and they need to respond to His love. It was
a conference full of the word and prayers.
About 400 widows from Plateau, Benue and Kaduna States were
in in attendance.
OPENING CEREMONY
The opening ceremony was a one-day event on the 3rd day of
conference, 3rd August, 2023. The aim was to create awareness, introduce the
Foundation and to solicit for support in any form for the growth of the
Foundation from our guests.
It was a grand occasion where we had guests from church and
society in attendance. The widows presented cultural dances and
testimonies. There were goodwill messages from guests while Rev. Dr
Stephen Dangana, General Overseer of Citadel of Knowledge Ministry delivered
the keynote address. There was an exhibition of beaded crafts made by
blind people that were sponsored by Bege for Gobe for training at
Hope for the Blind school in Zaria, Kaduna State.
A 3-day medical outreach ran as part of the package for the
conference. There was a combined force of Medical Teams from JUTH and Dr
Rebekah’s Team. God is awesome. The hall was filled up with Patients (widows)
and Medical Personnel. Missionaries and mission students of Agape Missions were
also beneficiaries of the medical outreach. The medical team comprised of
general physicians, dentists, ophthalmologists, nurses, pharmacists and
lab technologists. Several tests were carried out depending on the
needs.
Some teeth were extracted and some were washed and scrubbed
(probably the first time in their lifetime). Some widows obtained reading
glasses, eye drops and many had medicines administered to treat different
ailments. Those with serious cases were referred to bigger hospital
facilities. All the widows went back home healthier than they came in.
The widows did not only go with healthier bodies, but
also with food items like rice, beans, cassava flour, garri, palm oil, etc.
Clothes and shoes were also distributed to the women and to their children.
They all went home rejoicing.
The conference was indeed wholistic; feeding the total man,
spirit, soul and body. Most importantly was that there was immeasurable joy in
heaven over 44 widows who surrendered their lives newly to Christ Jesus .
We thank God for partners; groups and individuals who
supported with cash, palliatives, prayers, their presence and
participation.
