2021 Womens Conferrence

BEGE FOR GOBE felt a need to enable widows and their children celebrate 2020 Christmas like other families. We saw it as a means of encouraging them to rem ember that God is still there to take care of them even though their husbands and children’s fathers were gone. There are hundreds of widows around us here and we knew that we hadn’t built capacity enough to reach out to so many yet so we decided we were going to reach out to only 50 widows. For these we came up with a budget of Five Hundred Thousand Nigeria Naira (approximately 1200 USD ) to provide them each with: wrappers (fabrics), rice, canned pepper and onions, spices condiments, vegetable oil, etc. The people of God responded with hearts of generosity. God multiplied the loaves and the fish. At the conference we registered about 120 widows, served everyone lunch and drinks, gave every woman a Christmas package for herself and for her children plus paid transportation for those who couldn’t have come otherwise. It was an awesome gathering and very impactful. The testimonies were countless, some of which brought tears to faces.

The highlight of the conference was the Word ministry. In tears we saw widows surrender their lives to the Lord and receive salvation, offer forgiveness to relatives and in-law s who had hurt them at the instances of their husband’s deaths, etc. Widows departed the conference venue singing and dancing because they had thought they were never going to be able to participate in the some who stood to accept Christ. Celebration of Christmas last year, the reason being that the life of the bread winner of their family had been untimely snuffed off by Boko Haram or herdsmen attacks. Not only that their husband or father of their children was taken away from them, many have also lost their homes too and are either at IDP camps or squatting with well-meaning and benevolent individuals.

STIPENDS:

We have continued to give small tokens as monthly stipends to indigent widows. The number has increased a little but we trust God to be able to continue.

A PEEK INTO 2024

  The year 2023 ended so fast and seems to be moving faster in the new year 2024. Bege for Gobe has nevertheless hit the ground running as the Spirit of the Lord is directing. The regular activities have continued with prayers, Bible studies in different centres.   In between we have had to divert attention to new IDP camps as a result of recent attacks and killings in Plateau. WIDOWS ANNUAL CONFERENCE GANA ROPP 2023

  The Bege for Gobe annual widows' conference took place from 1st to 5th August, 2023. The theme was  My Beloved and His Vineyard ( Isaiah 6: 1-5 ). The purpose was to help the widows know and to learn that God has invested a lot in their lives and they need to respond to His love. It was a conference full of the word and prayers. About 400 widows from Plateau, Benue and Kaduna States were in in attendance.   OPENING CEREMONY The opening ceremony was a one-day event on the 3rd day of conference, 3rd August, 2023. The aim was to create awareness, introduce the Foundation and to solicit for support in any form for the growth of the Foundation from our guests.   It was a grand occasion where we had guests from church and society in attendance. Welcoming new orphans from Chikun LGA, Kaduna State, to Kauna Home

  At Kauna Home, the compassionate care and nurturing environment provided to orphans and children affected by ethnic killings exemplify the profound kindness and love extended to these vulnerable individuals.
