Barkin Ladi Outreach

 

Another thriving Bible Study group is growing in Barkin Ladi, meeting fortnightly. As in Miango similarly, the women who attend the Bible studies are widows of herdsmen attacks. At almost every meeting a new member is welcomed. Those who had been attending are experiencing new birth and transformation, as a result others are being attracted to also come and learn about God and to know Him.

OUTREACH TO MIANGO

  Our plan to get to Miango to reach out to the widows in the area was resisted in many ways. First it was the lockdown due to COVID-19, then it was again insecurity in that area. But the Lord helped us and we made it in October 2020. We saw and met with a sizeable group of women, all of them widows from Fulani herdsmen attacks on their communities. Some palliative packages were put together for each widow but that wasn’t the highlight of the visit. The highlight was the sharing of the word of God which we could see that it very much encouraged the women and lifted their spirits. This event led to starting a Bible study group in Miango town where women from the surrounding villages that had come under the attacks of herdsmen converge. These Bible studies hold twice a month.       We are thrilled to have been supported by our donors over the years, who are not just friends and family who appreciate our work but also people who have genuine love for God and his little ones, especially those in need. A beautiful day dawned with kindness of the heart expressed through beautiful gifts of clothes and school supplies. Mrs Doris Nnadiri was the instrument of this wonderful act of generosity and it came all the way from New York, USA. The excitement on the faces of the children was priceless and will definitely be a day to remember.   As we continue to work toward erasing dark days and rewriting the future of these children with hope and good memories by the grace of God, it would be more fulfilling to inspire more people to reach out and touch the lives of these young and vulnerable ones who are yet to be saved. Widows Empowerment

  There are hundreds of widows around us here and we knew that we haven't built capacity enough to reach out to so many yet so we decided we were going to reach out to only 50 widows. For these we came up with a budget of Five Hundred Thousand Nigeria Naira (approximately 1200 USD ) to provide them each with: wrappers (fabrics), rice, canned pepper and onions, spices condiments, vegetable oil, etc. The people of God responded with hearts of generosity. God multiplied the loaves and the fish. At the conference we registered about 120 widows, served everyone lunch and drinks, gave every woman a Christmas package for herself and for her children plus paid transportation for those who couldn’t have come otherwise. It was an awesome gathering and very impactful. The testimonies were countless, some of which brought tears to faces.
