OUTREACH TO MIANGO
Our plan to get to Miango to reach out to the widows in the area was resisted in many ways. First it was the lockdown due to COVID-19, then it was again insecurity in that area. But the Lord helped us and we made it in October 2020. We saw and met with a sizeable group of women, all of them widows from Fulani herdsmen attacks on their communities. Some palliative packages were put together for each widow but that wasn’t the highlight of the visit. The highlight was the sharing of the word of God which we could see that it very much encouraged the women and lifted their spirits. This event led to starting a Bible study group in Miango town where women from the surrounding villages that had come under the attacks of herdsmen converge. These Bible studies hold twice a month. It could be seen very obviously that the women are hungry for the Word of God and come eagerly to learn, drinking in what they hear. Some of them had no Bibles, and were given.
